During the nights when sleep can take no hold over my racing mind, I spend a lot of time thinking about the remarkable people in the world. Bill Gates, Steve Wozniak, Elon Musk and many more. Being a software engineer, my list may very well differ from yours, but the fact remains, these are truly one of’s.

The first thing I want to say before going any further, is that I am not in this category of people (yet… ha.ha.). Therefore, I cannot tell you how to be super successful or stand out from the crowd, I can only tell you where the path starts. In fact, I’m probably writing this whole article for myself.

When you really think about the topic, you realize something that these individuals have which ‘others’ do not – passion. Elon Musk has more passion towards changing the world than anyone I know. And there in, lies the secret sauce if you will. Someone who is truly passionate in a subject or towards a goal will always stand out from the rest. That’s simply because, nothing teaches someone more than solid interest. It’s the best teacher, simply because it breaks you through the tougher moments. Moments when things fail, moments when everything goes wrong, and most of all, moments when you just want to give up. You do it, just because you love it. The how, and the why don’t even matter.

Following that thought, tomorrow means never. If you want to do something, do it and don’t let anything stop you. Not Reddit, not your friends, not video games, not anything – get it done. The problem with pushing things to tomorrow, is that you tend to again, push it onto the next day. I’ve been there, you’ve been there… we’ve all been there. The point here is to simply dive in immediately, without a second though. Once you get going, don’t give up, and don’t ever stop moving forward. Even if it feels like you’re lost at times, don’t stop.

The world has become a complex place, and a lot has happened in the last bit of our history. That means that things are inherently harder than they were before. Technology is more advanced, ideas are more developed and theories in science are atop mountains of knowledge that lay below in their foundations. Therefore, if you want to make strides in these fields, you’re going to have a hard time. But hard doesn’t mean impossible. When you really think about the difficult problems that were solved in the past, you quickly realize that someone had to solve them… We’re they remarkable? Sure, but did they do something that you simply can’t? Probably not.

‘Do or do not, there is no try’. That’s all there is to it to getting started. It’s not magic, but it’s NOT easy. If doing remarkable things were easy, they wouldn’t be that remarkable now would they? So why are you reading this article? Close this tab in your browser and get to building your dreams!

and that has made all the difference.’
